I have been awake for 38 hours. Our cat, deena, got sick last night around midnight. We took her to the emergency vet. They did some tests and said her liver is enlarged. She needed an ultrasound which had to be done at her regular vet. We got home around 3AM. I stayed up all night with her to make sure she was ok. Pat took her to the vet at 9:30 and left her there. I had a doctor's appointment today, which went well. Thenthe vet called. The ultrasound showed that she has terminal liver cancer. Pat was ok on the phone but as soon as she hung up she nearly collapsed, sobbing. I was holding her up, trying to comfort her.
When we went to get Deena we debated over having her put to sleep right then. We decided that it wasn't her time yet. So I will be staying home with her until she goes. I was supposed to start work at Subway tomorrow but I gave up the job. Deena is more important.

Over the weekend I went to a med station for a sinus infection. My blood pressure was very high. I had been on meds, but when my husband lost his insurance, it was one of the things that fell by the wayside. Medical care without insurance is a pipe dream.
Now that we do have insurance I went to the dr today, and got back on meds. Now my problem is getting my husband to go. He has higher blood pressure than me, not to mention he smokes and is over weight. He just acts like it's no big deal.
I get aggrivated at the drs. People blame the insurance companies, but it's the fault of the drs that it's so high. As soon as they know you have insurance they find all kinds of tests you just have to have, and charge a ton of money. What you pay for is a drop in the bucket compared to what your dr charges to your insurance.

Gandi is right in saying this quote. so many people use that quote against each other, rather then thinking about its true meaning..... that is why I think there is so much distruction and bloodshed in the world today. The real meaning of this quote I think, is if a peson does a nice thing for you then you should repay them with a random act of kindness.

Today is a great day! Tiff went in to see Ron after work and he opened his eyes really wide and HELD them open for the first time. He was able to focus and look straight at her with those BIG BLUE EYES! He also nodded to her that he could see her. The nurses let us know that he is continually nodding his head when asked questions. He is making progress - slowly but surely! They also repeated the plasma transfer today, which went great!

Well,...it is Wednesday afternoon and I just left from being with the BIG "O". He OPENED his eyes---without me lifting his eyelids. I so much want to believe that every time I visit him and say "witty" things that he knows I am there. When I would speak today, he opened his eyes and then would close them. I did not see any mouth or jaw movement--he had been moving both from side to side--when I would talk. EVERYDAY is a better day. Will keep you posted. Keep him and the family in your prayers.
